DIY Calculators
Concrete, tile, roofing, and home improvement calculators.
DIY tools are material estimators for home projects — concrete, tile, paint, decking, flooring, roofing — built to answer one question before a hardware store trip: how much do I actually need to buy? The concrete calculator, for example, converts your pour's dimensions into cubic yards and then layers a waste/over-order factor on top, since real pours always use more material than the bare geometry suggests, and rounds bag counts up rather than down.
These are deliberately conservative by design — a materials calculator that under-estimates costs you a second trip; one that over-estimates by a small margin costs a few extra dollars. All of them assume standard dimensions and don't account for unusual site conditions, so treat the result as a solid starting estimate for a shopping list, not a final order.
Most of these calculators ask for the same handful of inputs — length, width, and sometimes height or a door/window deduction — since that's exactly what a contractor or a hardware store associate would ask for too. A couple go further: the deck calculator works out joist count and beam size from your chosen on-center spacing rather than just estimating boards, and the roofing calculator converts area into the industry-standard "roofing square" (100 sq ft) before pricing out bundles, since that's the unit actual roofing materials are sold in.
